AI chat inside the video editor
Chat with the AI director: edit video by talking, right in the editor
Type or say what you want: “make it more dynamic”, “put this clip at the start”, “fit the music to the length”. The director replies and edits the video at once with the same tools the editor has — the change shows up on the timeline, and you can undo it.

- No card needed

Edit by conversation — no hunting for buttons
Edits land on the timeline
The director edits the open cut together with your latest changes. Changed your mind? Undo, like after any manual edit.
Voice notes up to 5 minutes
Say your request — the director transcribes it, and the text appears next to the recording.
Captions and styling
Caption template, font, color, size and position, accents, titles, callouts and emoji — in one sentence.
Music and sound
Adds a track, sets the volume, fits the music to the video length and lines cuts up with the beats.
Drop files into the chat
Attach a photo or video — it becomes a project source, and the director puts it into the video.
Replies at cost
A reply costs exactly what its AI calls cost, with no markup. The price is shown under every reply.
How it works
How to edit a video in the director chat
- 1
Open the chat in the editor
The chat button is in the project header. On a wide screen the chat is a panel next to the preview and timeline.
- 2
Type or speak
In your own words or with a suggestion: “Remove pauses and repeats”, “Trim the video to 30 seconds”.
- 3
Check the timeline
Under the reply: “Edits: 3 — already in the editor”. Keep refining or undo the edit.
Documentation
Director chat in the docs
Step by step: where to open the chat, what the director can change, how to send a voice note or attach a file, how to pick a model and what a reply costs.
What the director can change for you
In the chat the director has the same tools you have in the editor and the same catalog of operations, so the result matches a manual edit. Phrase your request any way you like — the director breaks it down into actions:
- cutting: split, trim, reorder, duplicate a fragment, freeze frame, replace a shot
- captions: text, accents, template, font, color, size and position
- effects, transitions, color and LUTs, speed, camera push-ins
- emoji, callouts, titles, sounds and an opening hook
- music: a track, volume, fit to length, cuts on the beat
- voice on its own track, your photos and videos over the frame or in a picture-in-picture window
- cover and frame format: 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9
Versions and re-cuts — just ask
Every re-cut is a new version of the video, and earlier ones stay in the project history. Ask “bring back the previous version” and the director makes it current — the same request takes you back to the newer one.
When a request needs the video rebuilt — a different type, pace or length — the director sends a re-cut card with what it will change, the new settings and the price. The edit starts only when you press Re-cut.
The director remembers how it cut your video
The same feed holds the edit log: what the director found in your footage, what it fixed while reviewing the finished video and why each fragment is there. So you can ask “why does the video open with this line?” and get a real answer, then follow up: “now a bit shorter”, “bring back the old hook”.
Pick the reply model under the input field from those currently available in Slicer. The chat works in the browser and in the app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and looks the same everywhere.
AI director
A director that checks its own work
Once the reel is built, the director watches it start to finish — in viewing order, with what is on screen and what the viewer hears. It fixes the order, the logic and cut-off thoughts, and if the plan changes, it rebuilds the reel. You get one finished reel — already checked.

Pricing
Pay for reels, not a subscription
The in-app currency is tokens. A reel up to 90 seconds costs 24 tokens: it includes a finished reel checked by the director, editor tweaks and export.

Questions and answers
How much does a director reply cost?
Exactly what the AI calls for that reply cost — no markup. The price is shown under each reply, and you can message the director as long as you have at least one token.
Can I undo the director’s edit?
Yes. The edit appears in the editor like any other change: press Undo and the video goes back to how it was.
Will the director start a paid re-cut on its own?
No. It only suggests a re-cut with a card showing the price — 24 tokens for a new version. It starts only when you press the button.
Can I talk instead of typing?
Yes: voice messages up to 5 minutes long. The director transcribes your speech, and the text appears in the message next to the recording.
What happens to a file I attach?
It uploads right away and becomes a project source. The director can put it into the video whole or in part — for example, when you ask “put this clip at the start”.
Is the chat in the app too?
Yes: on the web and in the app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. On a wide screen the chat is a panel next to the preview and timeline.
